Life is precious

During the weekdays from 8 am until noon, we had crafts, songs and games to do with the children of any ages in the village. There was, the majority of the time, thirty or more kids with us every day. Some days it was difficult to keep everyone's attention, especially to those who doesn't really understand French:-) We became really close with most of those who came daily though. Throughout our stay, it never happened that none of the children weren't following us, including the two hours walk to attend a soccer game organized for us on the top of a mountain.  Everywhere we went, they just happened to be present! They have so much energy to climb those hills, or could even say ''those big mountains!'' Just by looking at the little ones, it gave me energy and perseverance to go further and to continue on.

I'll be honest with you... some days it felt like if it would never end...''there's always someone in need.'' All of those children have different lives, backgrounds, and problems. They all need something different; whether it's love, care, or physical needs. This was my second trip to visit and work with those children. I knew most of them before arriving, which made it way more easier. This time, my mind focused more on what those children don't have, things which we oftentimes take for granted, such as delicious meals multiple times a day, a comfortable bed to sleep on, a medical clinic which is easily accessible, sanitation knowledge for a healthier living, someone to tell them bed stories, and to kiss them goodnight...My dream would be to know that one day everyone of of them would have at least one of those privilege and a brighter future. But, it begins with us. Not only do we need to show them a trade or a way in which their lives could be ameliorated, but we need to do it with them, and encourage them on the way.

At several occasions, we had the chance to do gospel meetings, and answer questions concerning salvation from different individuals. I'm sure that God has something in store for this village.  The most important thing which they need is the gospel, has for many other villages, cities and countries. But something that I learned is: ''To truly reach the poor with the Gospel, we need to be willing to sacrifice ourselves by living the way they do, and to be 'one of them', not 'one of they'.''

Thank you for your prayers! May the Lord bless you all!
